SFX / Audrey SFX + Prosthetics [2005]

Media

Latex, custom blood mix, tubing, pumps.

Film

16mm short film 'Audrey' dir. by Angela E. DeCrecenzo.

I was in charge of creating a slit throat prosthetic that would pump blood out of the victim (err actress) as well as various other blood effects and sfx makeup (bathtub scene) on the lead actress, Crystal Pallister.

The tubing was rigged behind the actress (Crystal) and was hand pumped by me as filming took place. The prosthetic was sculpted in clay and then cast in latex.

Unfortunately I do not have any close up photos as I was under the idea that there would be a camera onset(other than film cameras, and there were not, lesson learned) but the makeup on her face made her look quite dead. The compressed stills from the dvd really don't do the work justice at all. oh well.

This scene is part of a quick hallucination sequence where she walks into the bathroom and sees herself dead/dying. Images flash, sound whirls, and it looks pretty darn good.
