Add about +2500 missing emails to that as I didn't start sending the emails to a database until November 2006. (a year and a half after genpets was created) Oh well. I doubt anyone will read more than 50 so That's still more than enough reading.

This is by far one of the most horrifying and disturbing inventions of the century. You should be ashamed to use science that could be curing people of diseases in disgusting money making schemes. One of your Qs ask if they can feel pain and your reply is yes but their vocal chords are small so you won't hear them. What is wrong with you. You should be disgusted with yourselves, and if this were to ever reach the markets...it would undeniably be one of the saddest days for humankind..

The first time I saw this website,
I genuinely thought that this was a joke. Quite frankly, I constantly still try to tell myself that it is. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't, and that this is really happening.
No one that can do anything about this will read this complaint, so I don't hope to achieve much with it. I just wanted to let someone affiliated with this company to know that this is digusting.
We went to this website in our biology class (I'm a senior in high school) and there was not a single person that had a positive attitude towards it. It made some of us sad, others furious and others just scared. I just hope that some sort of tax is imposed on this so that the company cannot lower the price of the good, or that it is completely banned. What I hope most, however, is that it is not received well by consumers and thus production is stopped. This would increase my hope in the goodness of humanity.
Finally, I would like to point out the morbid way in which this atrocity is being justified in the FAQs.

By forcing a guilt trip onto readers is not going to change the fact that what you are doing is absolutely disgusting. The pets you describe do not have a predetermined life span of 1-3 years; these pets do not have weak vocal chords so that they cannot express their pain; they express their own emotions -- anger, for example.
If there is anything that can be done to show this company that this is terrible, should not be released onto the market, and that will probably not be very well received by consumers, then I would like to know.

Is a shame we, human beings, are feeling so powerful to do something like this. To play with life like this, to control life with drugs like this, to sale life in plastic packages. I´m really sad to belong to this generation, we have no respect for life.

Can Genpets become angry or violent?
The Genpets are designed to be docile, combined with that, the nutrient packs keep them well tempered. If a Genpet were to be taken off of its nutrient pack it would die long before any behavioural issues could develop as the nutrient packs are also the Genpets sole source of food.
