(19980) Total emails in database
Add about +2500 missing emails to that as I didn't start sending the emails to a database until November 2006. (a year and a half after genpets was created) Oh well. I doubt anyone will read more than 50 so That's still more than enough reading.
This is complete animal cruelty! Whether it is biogentically enginerred or not, a "pet" does not deserve to live wrapped in plastic! If people wanted a hypoallergic pet, they can get a poodle! This is sick.

Is this some kind of sick joke? Creating an animal, putting it on a hybernating state, packaging it, and letting a child have it for Christmas like it is a doll?

I could not believe my eyes!!! Are you crazy people? How you dare to package living beings?? no matter they're genetically made for that. Believe me, kids won't be excited about a pet that doesn't do much or barely moves. They'll get bore easily and forget about the poor creature wich probably will die.
Also, they are not attractive at all, and they are not as charming as a puppy or a little kitten.
For you they just are convenient pets, cause they won't cause trouble, that's your marketing offer. Remember that pets are part of families and give us unconditional love, and for that we have to treat them with respect.
I'm from Mexico and i hope your "products" never reach our market.

I must say that I am disturbed by this development. Even calling this little life a "product" makes me physicaly sick to my stomach. Seeing these pets in packages greatly disturbs me. My special needs son has a feeding tube so the whole feeding tube thing makes me want to cry. I figured that genetic engineering of animals was taking place, but to see the results of it is to much. Don't you know you are messing with God's creation? This cannot be a good thing. Knowing this living thing can feel emotion and pain and bleed makes it very vulnerable. Then the restraints ... ugh. This whole concept greatly disturbs me. What are we as a human race coming to?
