Add about +2500 missing emails to that as I didn't start sending the emails to a database until November 2006. (a year and a half after genpets was created) Oh well. I doubt anyone will read more than 50 so That's still more than enough reading.

as much as i am trying my best not to judge, i'm finding it very hard.
first and foremost, the fact that these "pets" feel pain but make little noise means that some sadistic people out there will simply hurt them for their own sick pleasures - and nobody would know, same with lack of feeding - this thing makes no noise or very little noise so therefor how would anyone know when this poor little thing is hungry?
i find myself feeling sick at the comparison between bioengineering and pet breeding.
dogs and cats have not always been bread for our enjoyment - they were hunting animals, rabbits and ferrets used to be wild and were captured. bioengineering a pet (for want of a better word) IS playing god / mother nature and i find it ethically wrong. i feel even more sick as i read the question "do they bite?" no, but you can buy teeth removing kits! it is inhumane to say the least.
i am still trying to figure if this is real or a hoax, either way whomever came up with the idea has more than a screw lose.
